Avalon Reef Club Isla Mujeres
Hotel Information: The resort occupies Islote El Yunque, a tiny island connected to Isla Mujeres by a 91.5-meter (100-yard) wood bridge spanning a shallow channel. This feature adds tropical-island mystique for guests seeking secluded, casual holidays with a Mexican-Caribbean ambience. To reach North Beach (Playa Norte), Isla Mujeres' most famous sand stretch, guests need only wade 18 meters (20 yards) through waist-deep water.
Insider tip: Famed King's Bath (Piscina del Rey), a natural, nine-meter (30-foot)-diameter, coral-rock pool, lies just off the resort's villa section. The 1.5-meter (4.5-foot) deep pool is softly illuminated after dark.
The Avalon Reef Club Isla Mujeres has 133 guestrooms, studios, and suites. Standard rooms are located in an eight-story tower and feature ocean-view windows (no balconies). Studios and suites are located in two-story white villas with red-tile roofs set away from the tower in a section of lawns and paving-stone paths and feature large ocean-view balconies or ground-floor terraces. (The resort does not have accommodations specifically designed for people with disabilities.)
Guestroom entertainment options include televisions with English-language channels, radio/CD players, and complimentary DVD players and DVDs on request.
